Week 10

www.sarahriddle.com

Sara Riddle

Her website is very organized I like her logo it fits her style. I also enjoy her slideshow it was not too fast and you can enjoy every image. Everything is very easy to click through. Except the bottom half I don't like so much it's too much. Her instagram and sponsors. Then when you click on her portfolio it drops down which I like but then once you are in her portfolio folder the one image where it says she travels is always there and I think it shouldn't. It's fine that it says she is traveling on her front page but once you are in her portfolio I think she should have just her portfolio and nothing else there. So now I got it. It's really hard to explain I will do that in class. I noticed something else.

This is probably the most awful website I've seen so far. It's too much and I'm not even sure what this is at first glance. It looks poorly made and I read that this is one of the best pet photographers in DC. Which looking at this website I highly doubt. So confused I don't even know where to look.  I surely wouldn't want to contact them just by looking at their website.

I like their slideshow, it's not too fast. But I don't like how you have to scroll down to see what else the website has to offer. I don't like the advertisement, for me that doesn't belong on your website. If you have sponsors fine but I'd do it in a nicer way.

I like this one. Simple and easy to manage I like the drop menu that appears when you hover over the Portfolio box.
All pictures appear and you don't have to press any button to see all the rest of the images. There are thumbnails on the right side so you can see all the images and click on them to make them bigger.
It has a personal touch to it and I like that. She signs after the message which gives a feeling that she actually cares and it's personal. I would want my website to look like hers.

At first I thought I liked her website. I like the slideshow even though it took forever to load and I liked the picture of herself on the bottom.
But when I scrolled down (which I decided I don't want people to have to my site) You can add comments and you can contact her. I think that deserve a site on it's own. Also I'm not sure what to think about the comment section. Also the titles of Portfolios are in red but it doesn't really go with her logo. I feel like she should be more consisted.

I think this website kind of looks like it fits his style. It's not my cup of tea but it works for him. I don't like the facebook thingy on the right side. I think it looks like an ad and I'm not a big fan of that one. I'm not so crazy about the black box on the bottom where you can contact him. And I didn't know you could click on a category and it would take you to his blog about dogs and many more animals. He should make that the priority and promote that a little more.

Week 9

This promo will look like a book. My idea for next year, when I'm back with my dog and boyfriend, is to make a book. (Maybe even a children's book, making Quinnjamin into a story) I always wanted to do something like this. For this I would use my book promo and leave it behind in bookstores.

I think this book promo is a great idea for my work. people can hang the poster in there house or at work or in an vet's office. Like I mentioned last week I would leave those book promos at Animals hospitals/vet's. Also I would have a handful of promos in my purse at all times, in case I meet people at the local dog park.

I would leave those behind with my resume at animal photographers studio. Which I think I would like to assist. I thought about it and I think I'd be a good idea to assist a photographer who deals with dogs all the time. I'm still thinking about to assist an photo editor.

I also recently summited my Quinnjamin pictures to  'ISH' magazine (Illustrators Society Harrington) and I know they are getting published. Another thing I can put on my resume.

The book talked about deciding what mail: email or card. My product is something that I want people to hang in their house/office or other work spaces. Also I want to submit some pictures for some contests. I need to research some that are happening soon.  I bought an Embosser and I love it. I already tried something out with it and I will order my logo stamp as soon as possible.

This guys has such a cool promo. Not my style but I thought this was pretty cool.

I would send Vet's in the DC area my promos, since that's one of the places where there are the most dogs with their owners. Also I would hang postcards at different dog parks around the city.

Week 7

I'm going to try and take  a picture with a cats head. Also I have a shoot lined up with greyhounds. I shot another picture yesterday which I wont be able to put together before class, I don't have photoshop at home right now.

Not something I would shoot but I like ideas. They are clever, maybe I will try something with kiwis etc.

Found this one for Orli
